Hello crafty friends, it is time to share another Split Card Design idea with you, I have called it “The Door” and this is the Split Card Design #6.
Easy and quick this can be used to make cards for different occasions… Even for Xmas!
Split Card Design #6 In Video
In the videos below I show you how to make this 5×7 inches card…
Card Recipe
This is a 5×7 inches card but you can make it at any size.
- To make this exact design, you will need a 5″x7″ inches card base made out of Thick Cardstock.
- Use 250 grams – 300 grams for stability.
- To cut stripes (each 3/4″ inches) along the front panel of the card base, I used the Tim Holtz Maxi Guillotine.
- Then, I used the Simon Says Stamp Very Very Low tack Tape to hold the paper in place while glueing the parts. This tape won’t tear the paper at all.
- I also used the Tim Holtz Mini Trimmer to cut 4 smaller stripes of cardstock to reinforce the top and bottom parts of the card base as shown in the videos.
- The slimmer paper strippers measure 1/4″ x 5″ inches.
Once the card base was done, I decorated it using flat and non-heavy die-cuts.
This time, I also did some stamping using the following supplies:
- Blooming Meadow Stamp set and coordinating die set by Simon Says Stamp.
- The sentiment ” Welcome to our home” from the Thanksgiving Place Cards stamp set stamped using SSS Black Ink.
- For stamping, I used the Misti, Clear Blocks and gorgeous Pawsitively Saturated Inks
- Flowers inks used: Cheeky, Peachy, Watermelon, Heather, and Citrine Pawsitively Saturated Inks
- Leaves inks used: Sage, Fairway Pawsitively Saturated Inks.
- Next, I die-cut all the flowers and leaves using the Spellbinders Die Cutting Machine.
- To embellish, I used Sequins Disco Hearts Pack.
- Use Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to glue everything.
