Hi crafty friends, today I’m sharing another super easy split card front design idea. Isn’t cute?
This way of cutting the front panel of your cards is fun, it gives you different areas to stamp sentiments, or to build stamped or die-cut scenes.
I made Xmas cards using gorgeous Simon Says Stamp supplies listed below :
Cards Recipe
- Tim Holtz Mini Trimer (to cut the front panel)
- Turtle Doves Wafer Dies (little doves and bows)
- Layering Poindettias Stencil
- Spellbinders Essential Hearts Die Set
- Sentiments from: Missing You, Winter Birds, Christmas Kitties.
- Simon Says Stamp blending Bushes
- Pawsitively Saturated Inks

Split Card Front Design Idea
The Cardmaking process
The cards in this post measure 6×6 inches but you can apply this idea to any card size or for any occasion cards.
I used the Layering Poindettias Stencil and Pawsitibley Saturaded inks over a piece of cardstock to then die-cut it using the Essential Hearts Die Set.
Then, I used heart die-cuts to hold the pieces of the card front together. I also added die-cuts at the back of the paper to give stability.
Once the card front was assembled, I die-cut the Turtle Doves, I assembled and stuck them onto the panels using foam squares.
To finish, I stamped the sentiments using the Misti and Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
As images are better than words, in the videos below I’m showing you how I made these cards,

Bibi, I absolutely love this idea for your Split Card idea.
I really like that it appears or looks to be fairly easy, and fairly quick to make once you have your pieces cut out, etc.
I may look at either doing a general Thinking of You, or Birthday card for this…. but also, a Valentines Card would be fun as well.
