Cards Recipe

• For today, I’m using the Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts die set.
  This die set includes 2 die-cut quilt patterns and die-cut sentiments.

To complete a very simple scene I also used:

• Bear: Big Picture Book Bear and Picture Book Big Body dies by Simon Says Stamps.
• Sentiments: Quilty Hugs Sentiments stamp set by Spellbinders
• Embossed Backgrounds: Dazzling Dots Embossing Folder and Flurry Of Snowflakes Embossing Folder

These slimline cards measure 8 x 4 inches.

I started by putting together the Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts patterns.

• To do this, I die-cut the outline or the intricate detail and a solid square backing plate.
• Then, I glued the intricate outline die-cut over the solid square piece.
• Next, I die-cut 2 or 3 different cardstock colours and use the different pieces to assemble the quilts.
  
  I used glue to adhere all the pieces in place. The whole process was quite easy.
  
• Using dies included in the Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts die set, I also die-cut out of gold cardstock the sentiment: “Quilty Hugs”
  

The quilts can be used alone to create toppers for different projects but I decided to pair them with the Big Picture Book Bear and Picture Book Big Body as I initially thought about making baby-themed cards.

The Big Picture Book Bear is a must-have. It is great for any format cards. Easy to use and its arms have slits so you can add any flat die-cut underneath them.

So in this case, the bears will be holding the quilts like a baby blanket or something like that.

However, once I have all the die-cuts assembled, I changed my mind and instead of making baby-themed cards, I made something more generic using the Quilty Hugs Sentiments stamp set.

The sentiments are very sweet.
The sky’s the limit.
