I couldn’t avoid thinking in die-cut felt gnomes and Santa toppers for cards when I saw the dies in the latest Tonic Studios Designer’s Choice 10.
The die set is called “My Memory Book – Moments In Time” and it will allow you to create elements for a memory book but the sky is the limit and this post aims to inspire you to go out of the box.
die cut felt gnome and santa!!
I noticed the die set coordinates with the die set included in the Tonic Studios Craft Kit 32 here, this was also a memory book-themed kit.
“The designer choice 10: My Memory Book – Moments In Time” also includes border dies that you can be used in a wide variety of projects. Find more inspiration using border dies here and here.
If you have scallop, oval, tringle dies or any similar to the ones I’m using you can still die-cut the parts for similar projects. If you don’t have dies, you can use scissors to make these projects in any size as well.
santa box and card
- First, I made a card and a box.
- Using the large frame die included in the craft kit 32 and a scoring board, I DIY the box as shown in the video above.
- I have a very old video here that explains how to make this boxes in any size. No dies required.
I thought the little tabs dies in the Designer Choice this month could be used to create cool decorative elements for Santa’s belt.
For the sentiments I used Festive Sentients Die sets ( only available at Tonic UK but with international affordable shipping).
To add colours to Santa’s nose I used Antique Linen and Worn Lipstick Distress inks. Both together makes a nice skin tone.
For both projects, I use beautiful Cherry Red Craft Perfect Cardstock.
die cut Felt gnomes
Next, I had the idea to make super duper easy die cut felt gnomes .. just to give you an extra idea.
I wanted to make gold and silver hats but sadly I couldn’t get the fabric on time for this post. So I used what I had at hand.
The gnomes head measures 6″ x 5″ inches.
To put those project together, you can use a hot glue gun or stitch them up.
Use them on endless crafty projects such as stockings, boxes, bags, bottle huggers, cookies jars, tree deocrations, etc.
In the video above, I’m also showing you how to DIY the little poinsettia on the gnome’s hat. No dies required.
That’s all for today.
I hope like these ideas.
Happy Crafting!!
