Hello Crafty Friends, I’m unexpectedly in love with the Bell wafer die set by Simon Says Stamp. I think it is perfect to make Jingle Bells Xmas Cards.
As I know many of you start working on Xmas projects very early I couldn’t resist sharing this idea.
Bell Wafer Dies
- The Bell is a 5 pieces die set, it is very affordable and great value for money ($8.99).
- It will allow you to make a 2″ x 2-1/2″ bells
- Ideal for a variety of craft projects.
- This die set is part of the Yay You – Simon Says Stamp May 2022 release. Launched together with other wedding-themed products.
Jingle Bells Xmas Cards
I had this crystal clear idea to make Jingle Bells Xmas Cards using the new Bell die set and it came to life easily and effortlessly. It is not always that way!
Main Supplies
- Bell wafer die set
- Christmas Foliage die set
- Layered Daisy Stem die set
- A2 Marquee die set
- Holographic Silver Cardstock
- Matte Gold Mirror Cardstock
- Ribbon from my stash.
- Sentiments from: Winter Birds stamp set and Clean Line Christmas stamp set.
So I paired the Bell with the Christmas Foliage die set which is very affordable too ( $7.99 USD ) and includes 4 leaf designs in the perfect size for this project.
As I don’t have a poinsettia die-set in the size needed, I used dies from the Layered Daisy Stem die set which is actually designed to make gorgeous Daisy flowers.
As I needed to add a Christmasy look to the flower, I applied red inks over blank die-cuts.
The Paper
One very important component to make these cards stand out is the paper choice, so I used the most divine Holographic cardstock I have seen.
It is included in the Assorted Holographic Silver Cardstock Pack here, it is very thick and it shines differently depending on how the light hit it… It is just gorgeous
I also use Matte Gold Mirror Cardstock by Simon Says Stamp to show you an extra idea.
To die-cut the flower, the leaves and the backing panel, I used Neenah 80lb cardstock and the Spellbinders Platinum Die-Cutting machine.
I used the A2 Marquee die set and I glue it into a C6 ( 4-1/4×5-1/2) top fold card base made also using the same cardstock.
Ink Colours Used
I added colours using gorgeous Pawsitively Saturated Inks listed below:
To add colour to the Daisy I used :
- Candied Apple Distress Ink.
- Fired Brick Distress Ink.
The sentiments
- For the silver bells card, I used one sentiment samp from the Clean Line Christmas stamp set.
- The sentiment in the Gold Bells card is from the Winter Birds stamp set.
Finishing Touches
- I threaded a ribbon through the bell crown to arrange the bells first.
- Then, I affix the bells into the background panel using a dimensional foam pad at the back of the bell that overlaps the other and a little bit of glue at the back of the other.
- Note: Add glue in the centre of the pieces to easily slid and glue the foliage around.
- To embellish I used Crystal Clear and Crystal Clear Fusion sequins.
