Garden Boots Card and Tag
To make this porjects I apply a simple paper piecing technique.
- First, I stamped a solid image over differnet die-cut pieces of smooth cardstock.
- Then, stamp the same image on a piece of Strathmore watercolor paper that I previously painted using pigment powders and water ( Spray Bottle)
- Once the pape was dry, I stamp over the images and I fussy cut them using scissors.
- Using a memento marker, I appplied black ink over the edges of the images.
- To avid missing pieces, I glue every piece right after cutting it.
Notes:
- I like to use Versafine Onyx Black ink to do the stamping because it provides a very dark and sharp image).
- You can use any medium or patterned paper to do paper piecing.
- I used old Ken Oliver Colour Burst to add colour to the paper.
- There are similar pigment powders such as Nuvo Shimmer Powders, the colours of the shimmer powders are very intense and these also add shine as they contains mica.
To make this 6 x 4-1/2 inches card, I used one of the images from Garden Boots Stamp Set, the Misti, and Versafine Onyx Black ink.
The small sentimnet in the DIY mini tag is also from Garden Boots Stamp Set. I just glued over the boot and I added a tiny bow using a piece of black twine.
The sentiment is from the Just Miss You stamp set.
To die-cut the front panel, I used the largest die from Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles die set and the Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
I added a backing panel using a piece of Heffy Doodle Huckleberry Coloured Cardstock.
To make this tag I used the smaller boot from Garden Boots Stamp Set, the Misti, and Versafine Onyx Black ink.
To die-cut the tag, I used second largest die from Nested Tags die set.
I also added gold watercolor paint over the dots in the boots.
