Hello crafty friends, we are celebrating a new Alex Syberia Designs release with a blog hop and giveaways.
The release is loaded with cute images and clever tools for papercraft.
For today, I wanted to share super easy ideas to get crafty with some of the goodies in the release.
No colouring involved, no ink blending. All is just plain simple and super duper easy to achieve.
As I have been hooked on bookmaking and binding, I made a personalized notebook cover for Emma, my 9 years old daughter.
I’ll be sharing cardmaking ideas using goodies in this release on an Instagram Hop in a couple of days so stay tuned.

Notebook Cover Recipe
From the new Alex Syberia release I used:
- Giraffe-ic Stamp Set
- Giraffe-ic Friends Die Set
- Spring Garden Stamp Set ( flower at the background and gold heat embossed sentiment)
- Spring Garden Die Set
- Classic Foliage Die Set
Other Goodies Used
- Zutter Bind It All Machine in SALE (50% off)
- Stacking Hearts die set
- Be Bold Uppercase Alpahbeth
- Gold Rich Wow Embossing Powder.

The Book Making Process

This book cover measure 6 x 8.5 inches.
The paper for the covering measures 1-1/8″ more than the greyboard for the book cover ( 7 – 1/8″ x 9-5/8″). Then socred at 1/2″ inches all around the edges.
The scoring allow perfect centering and nice finished corners.
- So first, I made the notebook covers ( I’ll be sharing how to make them soon)
- Then, I stamped the large floral image from the Spring Garden Stamp Set on the front cover using Simon Says Stamp black ink and the Misti.
- I also stamped the Giraffes from the Giraffe-ic Stamp Set over a piece of scrapbook paper and I die-cut them using Giraffe-ic Friends coordinating dies.
- To add contrast on this very subtle composition, I gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Spring Garden Stamp Set on black. Then I die-cut it using a cordinating dies from the Spring Garden Die Set.
- Using dies from the Classic Foliage Die Set I also die-cut some deocrative leave for this project.
- I also used the larger heart dies form the Stacking Hearts die set . This are very large as tall as the giraffes.
- Next, I assembled the book and I just layered the die cuts over the cover
- To adhere everything, I used foam squares and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.
Notebook Cover

These are super easy and affordable to make ( I’ll be sharing how to make them in a next post.. soon)
You need a soft or a hard cover, inner pages, binding wires, and a binding machine.
You can get creative and punch the cover diefferently.
Oh!! and of course, to do the binding I also used the Zutter Bind It All Machine that has been in the market for over 10 years.

So the machine is not new but is new to me and I thinkis fantastic.
I’ll be writting ab log post about it shortly + video to show you how to use it.
You can find the Bind It All Machine in Amazon UK here or at USA Scrapbook.com here they have the machine is clearance for only $63 ( down from $128)!!!!!
You will also find online different binding wires. For this note cover I used 1/2″ wire but I would usually use 1″ or 3/4″ wires that are big just for decoration.
