Hi crafty friends, welcome to the Simon Says Stamp #SSSKisses Release Blog Hop- Day 2. For today I made Easy Pop-Up Heart Cards.
I’m featuring several new goodies from the release including new metallic cardstock in champagne and red colours and I also used other timeless supplies by Simon Says Stamp.
From the Heart Messages
- So this combo is the protagonist of the day
- It is called From the Heart Messages and includes a set of 15 individual stamps and 7 cutting dies that coordinate with the images.
- You can also get the Nested Rounded Hearts Wafer Dies and coordinating From the Heart Messages Stamp Set separately.
For today I used this combo to die-cut hearts and embellish the cards front and to add a fun Pop-Up element inside the cards. I hope you like the idea…
5×7 pop-up love Card Recipe
Card Front
- 5×7 inches Card Base made out of thick Sand Cardstock
- Hearts: Nested Rounded Hearts Wafer Dies + Red smooth cardstock and Rich Red Matte Metallic Cardstock
- Bear: Picture Book Bear Wafer Dies ( face) + Picture Book Big Body + Black, white, and pink cardstock.
- Using a Small blending brush, I applied Mocha ink at the edges of the die-cut bear.
- Die- Cut Sentiment CZ Design “Hi There” wafer dies and Champagne Matte Metallic Cardstock
- Background: Jumbled Hears Cling Stamp and Cappuccino Pawsitively Saturated Ink
- Stamped Sentiment below the bear: Love You Greetings stamp set
- Eyes and Nose: Nuvo Crystal Glaze
- To glue everything, I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
Inside the card
- Hearts: Nested Rounded Hearts Wafer Dies
- Coordinating Sentiments: From the Heart Messages Stamp Set
- To do the stamping I used the Misti and Simon Says Stamp Premium Black Ink
- From the Heart Messages Stamp and Die set – Reserve
- Pop-Up Mechanism from the Spellbinders Pop-Up Butterfly Etched Dies
- Pre-printed sentiment : Sentiment Strips Reverse Bold Love
- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
C6 Pop-Up Love Card Recipe
Card Front
- 5-1/2 x4-1/4 inches Card Base made out light grey cardstock
- Background: Xoxo Cling Stamp and Mocha Pawsitively Saturated Ink.
- Inked edges: Large blending Brush and Mocha Pawsitively Saturated Ink.
- Hearts: Nested Rounded Hearts Wafer Dies + Red smooth cardstock and Rich Red Matte Metallic Cardstock
- Bear: Picture Book Bear Wafer Dies ( face) + Picture Book Big Body + Brown, black, sand, and white cardstock.
- Using a Small blending brush, I applied Mocha ink at the edges of the die-cut bear.
- Pre-printed sentiment: Sentiment Strips Reverse Bold Love
- Eyes and Nose: Nuvo Crystal Glaze
- I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to adhere all the parts together.
Inside the Card
- Hearts: Nested Rounded Hearts Wafer Dies + Red smooth cardstock and Rich Red Matte Metallic Cardstock.
- Pop-Up Mechanism from the Spellbinders Pop-Up Butterfly Etched Dies.
- Sentiment: Simple Valentine’s Day wafer dies.
- The stamped banner was made using a stamp from the Love You Greetings stamp set.
- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.
The Pop- Up
- To make the pop-up, I used a die included in the Spellbinders Pop-Up Butterfly die set.
- Using the Tim Holtz Mini Trimmer, I cut 2 highest that measure 1″x 1-1/4″ inches.
- Then using the Mini Scor-Pal, I scored at 1/2″ inch along the longer side of the paper.
- These hinges were glued to the pop-up mechanism in order to be able to glue a die-cut heart over.
- Yes, you can use any heart die as long as it covers the mechanism.
- This die-cut mechanism is sturdy and allows you to glue as many hearts as you want to the main pop-up.
- To do this, you only need to make sure the hearts are aligned with the inner edges of the card base so they won’t show up at the sides.
- Enjoy creating pop-up cards for any occasion!
