Pegz Stamps
So today, I also want to share a fun way to add personalised messages to your projects using Pegz stamps.
These stamps can be put together like lego pieces they include some duplicated fonts to make the stamping easier.
All the cards in this post include sentiments stamped using Pegz.
Stamping Tips
- To stamp a sharp sentiment or phrase, I would advise trying the stamps first on a piece of printer paper to identify the correct amount of pressure you need to add to the stamps.
- Using high-quality inks also helps to achieve a nice and professional finishing look.
Here is a brief list of inks I recommend using with Pegz:
- Versafine Clair Nocture Ink (waterproof) or Versafine Onyx Black (waterproof)
- Simon Says Stamp Black Ink or any Simon Says Stamp Premium Ink ( Archival use. Waterproof + Alcohol Ink friendly once totally dry)

Color Burst Tones
Brights
In the video post here, I shared 9 ideas and different techniques using the Brights Color Burst Watercolor Powders.
Something I consider very important is that all the elements for all the cards in this post were coloured using Color Burst Watercolor Powders.
Earth Tones
Colour Burst Earth Tones Watercolor Powders are available at [Amazon US] [ Amazon UK ] [Amazon Canada]
This is a very simple card but it features all the colours on the Earth Tones Set.
- First, I worked on the background piece.
- I mixed Journey Modeling Paste with Yellow Ocre, Burnt Orange, and Terre Verte powders to alter the colour of the paste and I applied using the Lotza Dots Stencil by AAll & Create.
- Next, I mixed each powder with water and I applied it to different pieces of watercolour paper using a water brush.
- Once the paper was dried, I die-cut it using different bird dies from the Silhouette Birds die set by Tim Holtz.
- Then, using foam pads I adhered the birds to the background panel.
- The sentiment was customized and stamped using the Small Papyrus Pegz stamps by Contact Crafts.
For this card, I applied Ocre, Orange Burnt, and Merlot powders diluted with water through a multilayered stencil called Leaves Wreath Stencil ( 2 layers) by Simon Says Stamp.
- First, I applied Yellow Ocre + Orange Burnt paints using the first layer of the stencil ( leaf).
- The paint blended beautifully, just like when using inks.
- I allowed it to dry and then I applied Merlot + water mixture using the second layer of the stencil (stems).
- To finish, I die-cut the bird using dies from the Fathered Friends die set by Tim Holz out of watercolour paper painted using Yellow Ocre, Sepia, and Merlot Color Burst.
- The sentiment was stamped using the Medium Typewriter Pegz Stamps by Contact Crafts ( listed at the bottom of this post)
TOP TIP
To do stencilling using Color Burst Watercolour Powders is essential:
- To use a soft blending brush like this one here.
- Remove any excess moisture from the brush before passing it over the stencil. The brush needs to be slightly wet to avoid the paint zipping underneath the stencil.
- Allow each layer of paint to dry if you are using multilayer stencils.
Caribbean Tones
Colour Burst Caribbean Tones Watercolor Powders are available at [ Amazon US ] [ Amazon UK ]
- For this card, I mixed the Fuchsia watercolour powder with Journey Modeling Paste.
- Then, I applied the coloured paste through the Spring Boho Circle Stencil by Simon Says Stamp over watercolour paper.
- Once the paste was dried, I die-cut the piece using a heart die.
- I used Plant it Here die-set by Spellbinders to die-cut all the leaves, flowers, and flamingos out of watercolour paper coloured with Color Burst powders diluted with water.
- The sentiment was stamped using the Medium Typewriter Pegz Stamps by Contact Crafts ( listed at the bottom of this post)
I went a little bit over the top with this card as it got too many elements…I was testing the waters.
- First, I made the background panel using the Layered Flowers multilayer stencil ( 4 layers) and different colours from the Caribbean watercolour powders.
- Once the panel was done, I die-cut the flowers, leaves, and the butterfly body out of watercolour paper coloured using watercolour powders diluted with water.
- The sentiment was customized and stamped using the Small Papyrus Pegz stamps by Contact Crafts.
One of the properties of any water based paint is that depending on the amount of water you mix with the powder/paint/pigments you will get more o less intense colours.
I made these cards to show you the difference between colour intensity. Although you have to forgive me as I used different colours for both cards.
The card on the right was made using Earth Tones and the card on the left was made using Caribbean Tones.
Gillian Card – Earth tones: Yellow Ocre + Indigo + Medium Typewriter Pegz
Hugs to You card- Caribbean Tones: Turquoise +Orchid + Small Papyrous Pegz.
- So for the backgrounds, I simply applied the powders diluted with less or more water over the watercolour paper using a brush.
- You can go very subtle ( applying more water) or very bold ( less water).
- The lemons and leaves were die-cut using the Lemon Zest die set by Spellbinders out of watercolour paper painted using Colour Burst
- Both cards have customized stamped sentiments using Pegz stamps listed below.
Thirsty for more?
Phew, That was quite a lot!!
I hope you enjoyed this post.
