Spellbinders Kits May 2022 Large Die, Glimmer, and Embossing Folder

Oh my! The Spellbinders kits of May 2022 are to die for!!

In this post I’m featuring:

• The Large Die of the Month
• Embossing Folder
• The Glimmer of the Month

Butterflies and Large Sentiments

This month the kits feature large sentiments, a butterfly-themed glimmer set, and stitching textures.

Spellbinders LARGE DIE May 2022

• The Large Die of the month is called “Stitched for You” 
• It is HUGE. Contains 42 cutting dies.
• Includes fonts and backing plates to die cut the following words: Hello, Thank, Happy, Birthday, Me, To, From, You.

The Cardmaking Process

• To make this 5×7 inches card, I die-cut the word ‘YOU” out of the new Glitter Foam Sheets- Peacock Feathers and the backing panel of the word was die-cut out of vellum.
• Using hot plates and dies included in The Glimmer of the Month, I made the hot foiled banner and the butterfly.
• The butterfly was hoy foiled over a piece of watercolour paper that I coloured using Color Burst Brights watercolour powders.
• To add a texture to the background, I used the Embossing Folder of the month.
• I added a die-cut out of gold cardstock a decorative timing using a die from the Create a Slimline Border Etched Dies
• To embellish, I used Prism AB Gems.

embossing folder May 2022

• The ” Embossing Folder of the month” is called “Faux Stitch”
• This is a large embossing folder. It measures 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ inches.

The Cardmaking Process

• Using dies from the Large Die of the month, I made a super simple partially die-cut 5×7 inches card base.
• Then, I used the large format Spellbinders die cutting machine to emboss the front panel of the card.
• Next, I die-cut the large word “YOU” out of Glitter Foam Sheets- Painted Desert and Vellum and glued it over the front panel.
• The little flowers were made using dies from Be Bold Blooms die set.
• The foiled sentiment was mad using a glimmer plate from The Glimmer of the Month

Glimmer hot foil May 2022

The most versatile Glimmer Hot Kit ever !!

• The Glimmer of the month is called “Glimmer Butterflies”
• It includes 10 glimmer plates and 19 cutting dies.
• The dies in this kit stand alone.
• Instead of foiling you can also apply stitches!! How cool is that?

Tips to do foiling with this set

• Use the frame dies as a guide to affix the hot plates to a piece of low take tape or washi tape.
• Die-cut the butterflies.
• Then you can place the hot plates over the die-cut and secure them in place using a low tack tape hinge that will allow you to insert the hot foil.

To do hot foiling, I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Spellbinders Die Cutting and Embossing Machines.

The Cardmaking Process

• To make this slimline card (3-3/4 x 8-3/4) I first foiled and die-cut the butterflies using the Glimmer of the month.
• I applied Polished Brass hot foil over a piece of watercolour paper that I coloured using Color Burst Brights watercolour powders.
• I also die-cut flowers and leaves out of the same coloured watercolour using dies from the Be Bold Blooms die set.
• The sentiment was made using dies from the Smooth Lines Mix & Match Sentiments Etched Dies
• To embellish, I used Prism AB Gems.
