Hi crafty friends, I’m passing by to share easy die-cut and hot-foiled Xmas card ideas using Holiday Label Motifs die set and Winter Label Motifs die set by Spellbinders.
These die sets will allow you to create the cutest little scenes for your paper craft projects as you can use the different die cuts to create different compositions.
Here are two very simple ideas that also feature hot-foiled backgrounds and sentiments.
SPELLBINDERS Holiday Label Motifs
The Holiday Label Motifs die set includes 13 cutting dies. A stunning sunray background and different decorative elements.
The little lantern is divine and it measures 1-1/4 ” x 2″ inches so it is perfect to crate topers for tags, goodies bags or any other project.
The card is a very simple layering preproposal but te sky’s the limit.

My Paper Choice
From this paper pack, I used the Midnight Green and the School House cardstock colours.
- The pack here includes 31 assorted card fronts.
- It is a fantastic choice for die-cutting.
- For only $9.99 USD you can get 31 card fronts in all the cardstock colours by Simon Says Stamp.
- This is high-quality paper (100lb)
- Each piece measures 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ inches.
Gold Paper is Back in Stock!!!
I used the Polished Gold and Golden Satin Cardstock included in the Gold Hearted Paper Pad by Tonic Studios.
This paper pad contains 24 sheets ( 4 different colours. 6 each colour ).
You might know that I love to add metallic accents to my cards.
The Gold Hearted Paper Pad and the Silver Service paper pad are essential in my craft room and they are sold out pretty quickly so I try to buy various paper pads when possible as they are essential to me!!
I also used Neenah Classic Crest 80 Lb Solar White but for die cutting only, any smooth white cardstock will do.
Cardmaking Process
- First, I hot-foiled the background panels and the sentiments. I use the Best Craft Tape or any low tack tape to keep the hot foil plates and the foil in place while foiling.
- Then, I die-cut all the pieces for my projects.
- To make sure the small parts don’t get lost, I place the die-cuts in small triangle trays.
- Next, I assembled the different motifs to put together the toppers.
- I used SSS Square Foam Pads to add dimension to some parts but this is totally optional.
- Once the toppers were done, I stuck them to the hot foiled background. Then, I glued the backgrounds to C6 card bases.
Note : Depending on the look I want, I use Square Foam Pads or Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to adhere to different pieces. However, these cards could be totally flat ( to save postage) and still be pretty and easy to put together.
