Easy Watercolor Look for Die- Cuts| Spellbinders Little Smiles

Hello Crafty friends, I made sweet baby cards featuring the new Spellbinders Little Smiles Release.

I hope you like them!

The Spellbinders Little Smiles Release is absolutely adorable! It features three different die sets that let you create a monkey, rabbit, hippo, elephant, and even a stork carrying a baby. The collection also includes BetterPress sentiments, a star-themed embossing folder, and a stars background BetterPress plate.

The Process

I die-cut all the pieces out of watercolour paper, then I enjoy colouring all the die cuts with Intense Liquid Colours. This technique instantly gives your final card a more organic and artistic look.

Colours Used: Carnation, Yellow, Ocean, Rust Orange, Umber, and Black Lamp.
By mixing Carnation and Yellow, you can achieve peach or skin tones.

You don’t need to be an expert at colouring for this. Simply brush on washes of colour, letting the paint flow freely. Try adding a bit more pigment in certain areas of each piece to create depth and variation.

TIP : To keep the pieces in place, I apply Press n’ Seal at the back of a piece of watercolour paper, and then I die-cut it.

Next, I assembled all the pieces and added a touch of Tea Dye Distress Ink to the edges of the die-cuts to help them stand out against the white background.

I also added a layer of Silver Sparkle Base over the die-cuts, although this part isn’t shown in the video. It’s always nice to add a little bit of shine

I finished by layering elements as seen in the pictures.
