SSS Divine Peony | Pawsitively Ink Vintage Touch

I’m loving this Pawsitively Ink combo! It adds a distinctive vintage look to this card made using the stunning Divine Peony die set by Simon Says Stamp and a simple Pawsitively Ink blending technique.

For the flowers, I started with a thin layer of Morning, a bluish-purple ink, and then deepened the colour using Heather and Violet.

Blending multiple shades of the same colour family helps create a more dynamic and dimensional effect.
To finish, I used Charcoal to accentuate the depth and contrast.

For the centre of the flowers, you can use any yellow ink, but since I’ll be using Butter to highlight the leaves, I chose Butter for the flower centres as well to keep the palette cohesive.

Peony Leaves

• Butter
• Clay
• Nutmeg
• Sage

For the leaves, I started with a base layer of Butter for a quick application—simply pressing the ink pad directly onto the die cuts.

Next, I added Clay and Nutmeg to create accents, shadows, and contrast in the centre of the leaves.
Finally, I layered Sage on top to soften and mute the overall colour.

Background

• Violet
• Nutmeg
• Charcoal.

For the background, we’ll start by applying a thin layer of each ink colour to all four corners.
Next, lightly spray the area with water and use a paper towel to lift some of the moisture from the paper.
While the surface is still damp, apply a thin layer of Violet—this will create subtle, purplish speckles for added texture and interest.
