Hello there, I’m passing by to share ink blending ideas and tips using the new Craft-A-Flower: Anemone Blue Poppy Layering Die Set and some of the new Forest Fantasy Fresh Ink Colours by Altenew.
Anemone Blue Poppies Die Set
- The new Anemone Blue Poppy Layering Die Set includes 8 cutting dies that will cut 15 pieces.
- It will allow you to create 2 layering flowers and 4 leaves designs.
- The die set has a key-hole system:
This means that each die-cut will emboss a number and also has a shaped hole in the centre.
These 2 things will allow you to identify which die-cuts go together and the order in which you should glue the pieces.
The number 1 is the first piece you have to use, anything else is layered on top.
Something that caught my attention was the size of the flowers. They are quite big!
Each will cover a good portion of the half of an A2 panel.
One of these flowers will be enough to make a card, a box topper, or a tag, but I decided to put all the elements in a single project.

I love to add intense colours to my cards and perhaps I mix and match shades you might have never considered blending.
I kept it simple today and used all the purple inks in the new Altenew Enchanted Garden ink bundle.
To add shadows, I used Altenew Saphire and Pure Graphite fresh inks by Altenew.
Pure Graphite is a very dark grey colour almost black … stunning!
TOP TIPS
- To create eye-catching compositions don’t be afraid to add dark inks.
- Use the same ink colour to add shadows or contrast to all the die-cuts in the same composition. This is how you will achieve colour coordination and harmony as well.
- The ink colours used for shadowing in this card are dark blue and grey.
- It is also important to leave a white edge and not cover the whole die-cut with inks.

I really appreciate this explanation and the tip about using the same color ink on all the die cuts. I’ve never thought about that.
