Hello crafty friends, I hope you are doing well. Today, we are celebrating the SSS Celebrate Release with a blog hop and giveaways and I’m sharing ideas using the new Chelsea Floral Embossing Folder
In this post, I’m featuring the new Chelsea Floral Embossing Folder
This 3D folder is gorgeous.
It measures 4.5 x 6.5 inches and it fits A2 card size.
It also includes a coordinating die.
*** I’ll be sharing tips about using the die and the embossing folder next week so make sure to come back or subscribe to my blog to be notified.
SSS EMbossing folders and the DIE-CUTTING MACHINE I use
I use the Spellbinders Platinum Six with Universal Plate System
This is the sandwich to use SSS 3D embossing folders with this machine:
Base Plate A + Platform Top B + Metal Shim + an A4 sheet of 250-gram cardstock folded in half.

CardS Recipe
- STEP 1. For a luxurious look and feel use Neenah 110 lb cardstock to do the embossing and the card base. Cut A2 panels and 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 card bases.
- STEP 2. Apply light ink colours of Pawsitively Saturated directly from the ink pad to the paper and cover completely.
You can use one colour or as many as you want randomly.
Don’t worry about ink blending perfection. - STEP 3. Use the new Organic Leaves clear background stamp and dark contrasting ink and stamp the image over the panel.
- STEP 4. Apply the same dark ink, directly from the ink pad, over the flat side of the embossing folder ( debossed ) and run this through the die-cutting machine. Repeat 4 – 5 times until cover completely.
- STEP 5. Optional, for extra sharpness, you can repeat the embossing process but apply black soot Distress ink only at the edges of the image in the embossing folder and soften it up using a blending brush.
- STEP 6. You can add gold accents over the embossed image using different mediums.
I used BEESWAX Finish Stamperia ( medium to adhere Stardust Metallic Pigments) and Golden Sun Stardust Metallic Pigment.
You can also use gold watercolour paint diluted with very little water for one of the blue cards, - Step 7. Add a sentiment or preprinted sentiment.
If you like dimensions, you can add a topper but because the paper will look so beautiful you might not want to cover it.
For the sentiments, I used the new Just a Note 2 die set and a sentiment from the Fancy Dad and Father Greetings Foil Transfer Cards - I also made a layered butterfly using images from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set stamped over photo paper using Cadette and Charocal Pawsitively Saturated Inks.

You’re video was great and a good reminder that sometimes I just need to keep going to achieve the results I’m looking for. I’ve used the inking technique on an embossing folder before and the next time I try it I’m going to make several more passes thru the die cut machine to get the effect I’m going for.
