Hi crafty friends, Here is an easy and fun DIY Wagon Treat Box idea using the Wood Plank and the Citrus Slices Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp.
You might know I like to play with die-cuts to create boxes and 3D projects.
So here are the main supplies used, anything else was DIY.
Wagon Treat Box Idea
This box measures 2″ x 3″ inches.
The base is 3/4″ deep and it is about 4″ inches tall including the wheels.
To decorate the wagon, I used the smaller die in the Abundant Leaves Wafer Dies but you can use any small die cut.
For the sentiment, I used a pre-printed greeting from Easter Sentiment Strips, which is also very generic.
I also used Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink to add colour to the wood planks
Wagon Treat Box Video Tutorial
You can use this idea to create treat boxes in different sizes, in any colour, and for any occasion.
This can be packaging for cupcakes, small treats, or gifts.
TOP TIP
If you decide to add ink over the die-cut planks as I did in the video.
Do not forget to swipe the ink pad gently from side to side of the pieces to be able to reveal the wooden pattern. If you apply ink along the die-cut it will be fully covered and no pattern can’t be seen.
Box Pieces
- 3 wood planks die-cuts
- 4 full citrus slices die-cuts (for the wheels)
- For the Box Base:
You will need 2 pieces of cardstock that measure 3-1/2″ x 4 -1/2” and scored at 3/4″ around the edges to create the box and the insert.
*** The insert is optional and I did not glue it together to easily insert it inside the box.
1/4″ x 4″ inches handle
For the top of the box a 1/4″ inches strip of paper ( this will provide a little bit of stability – not 100% needed) - To Decorate:
Small leaves and floral die cuts
A banner with a sentiment.
The First Attempt

Here is the prototype …
It is slightly smaller than the final project.
That’s all for today!
