Hi there, I recently got the new SSS Hey Girl Hey wafer die, you might have this or similar dies that will cut many different pieces in one go. I’m passing by to share essential die-cutting tips to work this type of dies.
Key Tips
- Use a well wrong cutting plate underneath the paper while die-cutting. (Do not use new plates for this – it won’t work.)
- Due to the marks or micro indentations on the used plate, the cardstock will stay over it (the plate will grab/ hold the die-cuts in place after die-cutting)
- Leave the die cuts on the plate and carefully remove any excess paper.
***Use the Spellbinders Tool N’ One to remove small die cuts.
***The Place And Score Embellishment Wand by Simon Says Stamp will help you to lift the negative die-cut pieces ( those that go in the bin) and also help you to pick small pieces to glue them in place. - While the die-cuts are still laying over the well-worn die-cut plate, add tape over them to keep them all together.
- I would recommend using Simon Says Stamp Very Very Low Tack Tape ( smooth cardstock) or Spellbinders Best Ever Craft tape for textured, glitter and smooth cardstock too.
- Apply glue at the back of the die-cuts while stocked to the tape and glue them in place as shown in the video.
