Hello crafty friends,! Welcome to the Spellbinders Kits Inspirational Blog Hop -March 2023.
For today I made 5 projects to share easy cardmaking ideas with you.
I used the following kits:
- Spring Reflection – Large Die of the Month
- Floral Butterfly Card Front – Small Die of the Month
- Stylized Calla Lily – Embossing Folder of the Month Membership (2D)
- Tiled Motif – 3D Embossing Folder of the Month Membership
- The Butterfly Card Creator die set in promo ( down from $39.99 to $27.99!!!)
*** Find the complete supplies list at the end of this post.
Cardmaking Process
- First, I die-cut all the pieces for these projects.
- The foliage and butterflies were die-cut out of watercolour paper previously painted using Colours Burst Powders.
- Then I used the embossing folders of the month to add texture to 4 of 5 of these cards’ backgrounds.
I applied ink over the embossing folder and using a blending brush, I spread the ink over the folder. Then I embossed the paper as normal. - To make the 3D card, I follow the Spellbinders assembling instructions here.
- In spite of having many pieces, the die-cutting was very quick because you get 1 single die that will cut all the pieces needed in one or two goes.
- To adhere everything together, I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive,
Spellbinders Large Die of The Month
March 2023
- The Spellbinders Large Die – March 2023 is called “Spring Reflection” and it included 16 individuals cutting dies.
It will allow you to create a 3D pop-up card that will fit in a C6 envelope
Butterfly – Shaped Card
Using the beautiful floral tree dies included in the”Spring Reflection” –Spellbinders Large Die – March 2023 you can also create toppers for any project.
Just to share an idea, I paired it with the Butterfly Card Creator die set (in promo) and I also used the Stylized Calla Lily- Embossing Folder of the Month (2D) to make this 5×7 inches butterfly- shape card.
Spellbinders Small Die March 2023
The Spellbinders Small Die of the Month is called Floral Butterfly Card Front.
- It includes 11 cutting dies
- Designed to create a background panel.
- I used the butterfly dies to create quick and easy cards.
Spellbinders Embossing Folders Clubs
The Embossing Folder Clubs by Spellbinders are a great way to get exclusive folder designs for your projects.
The large folders measure about 5-1/2 x 8 – 1/2″ inches allowing you to emboss paper for projects in different sizes.
- On the right side of the picture, you can see the Stylized Calla Lily Embossing Folder of the Month (2D) this folder works well with the old Spellbinders Platinum 6 standard version (discontinued) or any standard die-cutting machine.
- At the left is the Tiled Motif – 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. To work with this folder you may require a Universal Plate System ( in the picture below).
- This system can be bought individually here and it will work with any standard die-cutting machine (Cuttlebug, Sizzix).
- It is also included in the New & Improved Platinum SIX Machine with Universal Plate System.

Watercolor powders? What an easy way to create ombres and fun color splashes. Plus not having to store lots of different color cardstock. I’m gonna play with that idea. Also – as an aside – I could not get most of the banner style links to work. Including the one to the next blog site. Just mentioning in case it’s not my web browser. Thanks!
