Hi Crafty friends, I’m passing by to wish you a happy new year!!
Wishing you A Sweet 2023, filled with the very best for you and your family.
Thank you for your support during 2022. I’m very grateful for you.
This winter in the north of Scotland has been the coolest ever and my two youngest kids were sick with a virus that was bothering many kids in the school.
During this time of the year, I usually would have been down with a flu, then cold, then some other virus. I was sick all the time but after my Explant, I’m still recovering but I have been doing ok.
I though this will be my very frist winter free of any illness but the joy ended last week! Nooo…
The joy of having kids in preschool!!.
So I made this card under the influence of high temperature for what you might have to excuse my coloring and my fussy cutting it was made with loads of love and that is what it matters 🙂
So I just thought in passing by to wish you a happy new year and also to share a simple idea to strech the use of your supplies.
I used the new Sweet Tooth Bears stamp set designed by my friend Alberto Gava for Simon Says Stamp.
Alberto is one of the most amazing colorist out there and you defo have to see his work here.
Sweet Tooth Bears
Sweet Tooth Bears is a 6×8 inches Christmas- themed stamp set but you defo can stretch its use for other ocassions by combining sentiments or die-cut words.
I decided to make a Happy New Year Card for you.
Card Recipe
- Sweet Tooth Bears stamp set.
- Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers.
- Strathmore watercolour paper.
- VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink.
- Misti- Stamping Tool.
- Cherry Pawsitively Saturated Ink.
Cardmaking Process
- First, I stamped the images from the Sweet Tooth Bears stamp set on Strathmore watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and the Misti- Stamping Tool.
- Then, I applied colour using Zigs ( waterbased markers)
- I fussy cut the images and set them aside.
- Next, I worked on the background panel. I trimmed a 7 x 4 inches piece of Neenah 80 lb and I inked the bottom part using Cherry Pawsitively Saturated Ink and a blending brush.
- Then, I sprayed a little bit of water over the piece to create white spots.
- I allowed the panel to dry and I splatter Cherry Pawsitively Saturated Ink diluted with water.
- Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiments directly on the panel using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and the Misti- Stamping Tool.
- Accidentally I passed my hand over the small sentiment before the ink was dried, and I smeared the ink a little bit.
- I decided to save the pane so I stamped a little banner and glued it over. (It doesn’t look great but it is a good fix :))
- To finish, I used SSS square foam to stick the images around the sentiments.
- I also glued the die-cut numbers made using the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die set by Spellbinders.
Thirsty for more?
Thats all for today.
