How I do it
As the coordinating dies tend to have a flat bottom, I thought they were perfect to partially die-cut the card bases.
So today I’m also sharing ideas to get creative and to do something a bit different using the dies.
- Because of the size of the card and the die cutting aligment, I had to use a large-format die-cutting machine to make the cats and hamster card bases.
- For the dog card, I used a 6″ standard die-cutting machine ( I just run the card base folded in half with the die on and the plates slighly off the bottom part of the shape so when runing it through the die-cutting machine that area wasn’t cut.
- I also used a pair of new cutting plates tha I have exclusively to do this and to avoid marks or impressions on the cardstock.
- After die cutting, I cut the excess of paper using sicors or a craft knife.
- Once I die cut the card bases, I stuck over a stamped, coloured and die-cut image.
- I didn’t stamp over the card base.
- I also reinforsed the die cut card bases by adding an extra piece of white smooth cardstock at the front, or inside, or at the back of the die cut area when necesary ( the dies makes this work easy)
All the images for today cards were coloured using Zigs and die-cut to be added onto the card base using liquid glue.
Die-Cut Card Bases 3 Ways
1. Anita Jeram ~ Conga Line

- To make this card, I used the large and stinkin cute image from Conga Line Stamp Set. [Available at SSS here or CCC Here].
- For crisp images, I use the Misti, Versafine Black Onix Ink ( waterproof ink), and Strathmore Watercolor paper.
- I used the coordinating die [ Available at SSS here or CCC Here] to die cut a watercolored image and also to partially cut a shaped window in the front panel of this slimline card base.
- Using scissors and a craft knife, I trimmed the excess paper.
- Then, I glued the coloured and die-cut image over the die cut shaped window. Aligning the die-cuts.
- I also die cut an frame to add sturdines and a better finishing to the front of the card.
- This card measures ( 3-3/1 x8″ inches)

2. Anita Jeram ~ Whisker Kisses

- To make this card, I used an adorable image from Whisker Kisses Stamp Set. [ Available at SSS here or CCC Here].
- For crisp images, I use the Misti, Versafine Black Onix Ink ( waterproof ink), and Strathmore Watercolor paper.
- I used the coordinating die [ Available at SSS here or CCC Here] to die cut the watercoloured image and to partially cut the front panel of a C6 card base in half.
- Using scissors and a craft knife, I trimmed the excess paper.
- Once the card base was die cut, I applies green and blue Pawsitively inks by Simon Says Stamp at the bottom of the front panel.
- To finish I glued the stamped / die- cut image over, and I stamped the sentiment with the help of the Misti.

3. Anita Jeram ~ Birdbath Friends

- To make this card, I used the little dog from Birdbath Friends Stamp Set. [Available at SSS here or CCC Here].
- For crisp images and stamped sentiment, I use the Misti, Versafine Black Onix Ink ( waterproof ink), and Strathmore Watercolor paper.
- I used the coordinating die [ Available at SSS here or CCC Here] to cut the coloured image and to partially cut the top of the front panel of a C6 card base.
- Any excess paper was cut using scissors or a craft knife.
- Once the card base was done I glues the die-cut coloured image over and I stamped the sentiment ove rthe card base with the help of the Misti.

ColoUring
- To apply colours to Anita Jeram images, I love using Zigs.
- I stamped the images using Versafine Black Onix Ink ( waterproof ink) over Strathmore Watercolor paper.
- Strathmore watercolor has very little texture and allows easy ink blending before absorbing the inks. I highly recommend this paper to use with Zigs or any waterbased ink.

Hi, Bibi – I just adore your cards — all of them. I have long admired your work. I just subscribed even though my inbox is killing me these days w/ so many crafting emails. I will somehow prioritize and keep yours coming even if I have to let someone else’s go. Your work is JUST GORGEOUS. I was really captivated by that wash of bluey-green at the bottom of the Whiskers (cat) card. I liked all three VERY, VERY much, though. That conga line is a scream. Anita Jeram is phenomenally talented and your cards are exquisite as well.
TFS and stay safe.

I just subscribed to your channel after watching you color the beautiful images on your card with zig and a water filled brush. Your card looks like an illustration you would find in a child’s storybook. I loved how you tore paper to create your own stencils for the grass and the sky. Your splatter technique was amazing and very uniform splatters. I learned a lot by watching. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. Your cards are beautiful.
