Hello lovely crafters, I was in the mood to make easy and quick Snowflake die-cut Xmas cards to share with you today.
The large Snowflake Mandala wafer die is stunning!! Love it.
While creating with several snowflakes dies by Simon Says Stamps, I found that they can be layered and that they kind of coordinate together.
I liked the combo of Snowflake Mandala + Sophie Snowflake + Eliza Snowflake.
The Cardmaking Process
- Fisrt, I applied ink at the top of the front panel of the A2 Card Blanks towards the bottom using Simon Says Stamp Blending Brushes.
- To add interest I spray the card base with water using a Light Mist Bottle, I placed a paper towel over the paper to remove the excess water and allow it to dry.
- Then, I splattered the paper using Black Sooth Distress Ink diluted with water.
- Note: avoid using the heat tool to speed the drying process as this will warp the paper.
- Using the GEMINI Die-Cutting , I die-cut the snowflakes out of Tonic Holo Waves, Marina Mist, Purple Rain. Pink Chiffon.
It is hard to photograph iridescent cardstock but the die-cuts look absolutely gorgeous in flesh!
- To complte the cards I made small banners using Pre- Printed sentiments from Sentiments Strips Christmas.
- I added to the banners a backing layer of Tonic Holo Waves iridecent cardstock.
- To keep it simple, I embellish using Spellbinders Silver and Crystal gems.
The colours of the snowflakes
I was a bit unsure about the colours I should use for these cards so I asked Alexa!
She answered: purple, pink and blue.
So she made me think in Iredecent cardstock that has reflections of all these colours and then I grabbed other iridescent and satin mirror cardstocks to complete this project.
Distress Inks are so easy to use that I also decided to do ink blending directly on the front pane; of the card base.
I keep it simple.
Purple Snowflake Card
Seedless Preserves + Dusty Concord Oxide Inks + Wilted Violet Distress Ink + a hint of Black Sooth Distress Ink.
Pink Snowflake Card
Festive Berries + Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks + Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
Blue Snowflake Card
