Hi there, yesterday I find peace and comfort doing some bible journaling and I wanted to share this idea with you today.
It is the very first time I use stamps and inks over the pages.
My old bible used to look like a hot mess, I used to highlight the text with pens and make some doodles.
So 6 years ago, I bought this version of the bible in English with room to the sides to do bible journaling.
Only until yesterday, I dared to ink its pages… I really needed it.
Bible Journaling
I wanted to create a heaven-looking page with positive vibes. How could I ever imagine heaven?
My first thought was clouds of course! So not very original.
I also imagine flowers and butterflies.
So I just grabbed Beautiful Flowers and Beautiful Butterflies stamp sets by Simon Says Stamp to do some stamping but before I did a cloudy background that is hard to see in the pictures.
So I started by using Clouds for Days Stencil and Distress Inks ( Speckled Egg and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Inks) over the 2 pages.
To do this, I used SSS Blending Brushes. These are super soft and because they come in different colours I can identify the brushes to avoid ink color contamination.
The sentiment “joy” is from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set and the sentiment “ I believe in you is from Greeting Mix 1 stamp set.
I wasn’t really thinking when stamping, I just allow myself to improvise.
So while stamping, I overlapped the butterflies images from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set over florals from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set.
As the paper of the bible is very thin, I decided to use Simon Says Stamp Premium Dye Ink Pad Fog Gray to stamp the images and I applied color using Prismacolor coloured pencils.
To add accents I used fine tip markers from Spellbinders Jane Davenport Finishing Line Expressive Pens.
The stamping can be seen on the backing of the page so Ill keep experimenting and if you want me to, I’ll keep sharing.
The Scripture
20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.
21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy
These were Jesus’ words prior to his crucifixion and resurrection. A reminder that suffering is not without purpose.
Thirsty for more?

Bibi, your Bible journalling is soooo beautiful! I hopped over to your Instagram page – I am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord Jesus comfort you. This beautiful page will serve as a lovely remembrance.
I have often wondered about whether the art work bleeds through the pages of the Bible to the other side, and what can be done about this.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.

💜 Sigue compartiendo tu fe y Su palabra. El mundo lo necesita ahorita.
