Happy Friday! For today I have 3 easy and fun ideas to create wreaths using Laurel Leaves Die Set by Simon Says Stamp and new Distress Ink Colour Rustic Wilderness.
You can use similar leaves dies specially those that have a curve shape or small leaf as well.
So everything starts with one single die cut made using Laurel Leaves Die Set…
Then the Sky’s the limit.. Here is the video to show you the ideas on this post
LAUREL LEAVES XMAS WREATH
One of the main features of this card is the treatment applied to the paper.
You can die cut coloured cardstock instead but I do love the watercolor look and feel of the die cuts. the texture and shine.
- First, I applied Rustic Wilderness Distress Inks on watercolour paper.
- I allowed the inks to dry.
- Next, I spray the paper with a little bit of Cracked Campfire and Speckle Egg Distress Stain.
- To add speckles in many different colours, I diluted with water Rustic Wilderness Ink, Gold Perfect Pearls, the ink of a Black Nuvo Aqua Flow pen, and white acrylic. I splattered these over the paper allowing to dry between applications.
- When the paper was dry I die cut it using Laurel Leaves Wafer Die.
- Using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive, I glued the leaves in a circular shape.
- I embellish using die-cuts made with Mini Flowers and Leaves die set by Simon Says Stamp
- the sentiment was made using Joy Scrypt Wafer die
LAUREL LEAVES WINTER WREATH
- For this card, I die cut Neenah 110 lb cardstock using Laurel Leaves Wafer Die.
- Then, I applied Crushed Olive, Moved Lawn, and Gathered Twigs Distress inks on the die cuts.
- I die cut Picture Book Deer our of watercolor paper and I applied colours using Zigs.
- Using I embossed the background using a woodgrain embossing folder and I applied Weathered Wood. Distress Ink.
- I embellish using Mini Flowers and Leaves die set by Simon Says Stamp
LAUREL LEAVES HEART-SHAPED WREATH
For an extra idea I made this heart-shaped wreath.
- For this card, I die cut Neenah 110 lb cardstock using Laurel Leaves Wafer Die.
- Then, I applied Speckled Egg, Cracked Campfire, and Rusty Hinge Distress Stains over the die cuts.
- I also splattered over Nuvo Antique Gold Mica Mist.
- When dried, I applied a hint of Squeezed Lemonade and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks over the leaves.
- Using a large Heart die from Staking Hearts die set, I die cut a 6″x6″ inches cardstock panel and I glued the die cuts around the aperture.
- I added vellum behind the Heart-Shaped window and I glued this onto the card base.
- The sentiment was die-cut out of Neenah 110 lb cardstock and sprayed using Cracked Campfire and Rusty Hinge Distress Stains.
- To darken the sentiment edges, I applied Gathered Twigs Distress ink using a mini Ergonomic blending brush.
- I added a back panel to the sentiments made out of vellum.
- To embellish, I used gold sequins.
That’s all for today
I hope you have enjoyed these ideas to stretch the use of your supplies.
Happy Die Cutting
