Hi crafty friends! For today I made a couple of slimline Christmas cards using “3D Forest Border Embossing Folder “and “Slimline Christmas Wafer die“.
I spent the whole morning playing with some of the new 3D embossing folders by Simon Says Stamp and distress inks and once again I realized that less is more.
These cards are super quick and simple to make.
BTW I have no problem if you want to copy them at all. Actually, it will be an honour if you do it.
3D FOREST BORDER EMBOSSING FOLDER
Ok, I first die-cut a panel out of Neenah 110 LB cardstock using a die from Heffy Doodle Stitched Slimline Trio
Then I embossed it .
- I placed the chunky plate or the die-cut platform on your embossing machine.
- Then place the embossing folder over with the cardstock panel in the middle.
- Next, I added a metal shim and 2 pieces of cardstock over the folder for more preasure.
TOP TIP
To avoid marking the panel with the embossing folder, I placed the extra shims away from the edge of the embossing folder so they weren’t making pressure on that area.
Once the paper is embossed, I used an ergonomic brush to gently apply Blueprint sketch Distress ink over the raised area of the embossed image.
I was very light-handed while applying ink to be able to reveal the image. The ergonomic brush really helped me with that task.
SLIMLINE CHRISTMAS WAFER DIE AND MIRROR CARD
I love to use mirror cardstock to die cut sentiments!
So I die-cut the large sentiments using Slimline Christmas Wafer Die out of Red Ruby Mirror Card and also Fire Stone Red Iridescent Cardstock.
These red mirror cardstock types shine in different ways and they were incredibly difficult to photograph… Gosh!
Iridescent cardstock shines when the lights come from a side and mirror card shines when the light comes from above but no worries you only will notice this when trying to take pictures to projects that include both. lol
Anyways… they both add an incredible value to these cards.
That’s all for today.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
Happy Crafting.
X Bibi
