Hi there, today I’m participating in Simon Says Stamp Instagram hop and I’ve made an easy and fun Christmas card using The Man The Myth Santa stamp set and die set.
I also used beautiful Simple Ho die set and Prismatic Snowflakes stamp set to complete this card.
If you go to my Instagram here, you’re going to love the fantastic inspiration you’ll see from several creative people using supplies from this release.
THE MAN THE MYTH SANTA ON DISTRESS BACKGROUND
I started by creating the card background!
The Man The Myth intrigued me, I wasn’t sure about how this modern Santa design will look on an inked background but you don’t know until you know…
So I grabbed my Tumbled Glass ink pad and I apply it directly on the paper to add a heavy coat of ink over it.
The paper was now blue so I sprayed it with water to create some white speckles and texture.
Once it was dried, I grabbed the smaller snowflakes stamps from “Prismatic Snowflakes stamp set” and I placed them on a clear block to repeatedly stamp on that inked background using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.
Next, I applied Chipped Sapphire Ink all around the edeges of the panel and I sprayed water over it again.
Then I also splatter a mixture of water and white acrylic paint to add more freckles.
I die cut the background using Wonky Rectangles and set to one side.
THE MAN THE MYTH COLOURING
This images are super easy to colour as you might not need to add colour at all to Santas hat and beard.
The Santa was stamped on Arches Watercolour paper 300 grams so that, I used my Zigs to add colours .
To embellish, I applied Nuvo Crystal Glaze over Santa’s glasses and I also added Xmas Bells over Santa’s hat.
die cut shimmery sentiment
The sentiment Ho Ho Ho was die cut out of Neenah Solar Crest 80lb cardstock using “Simple Ho” sentiment die set.
Then, I applied colours using red Copic markers ( alcohol markers).
To add a wow factor, I sprayed the coloured die cuts using Crimson Velvet Nuvo Mica Spray.
The Mica Mist over the sentiment took those die cuts card to the next level so I decided to add more shimmer by applying Cooper Nuvo shimmer pen over the hat and glitter shimmer pen over other areas.
`Note: You need to clean the nozzle of the Nuvo Misc bottle immediately ( remove it from the container, Deep it in water and spray until it is clean) so that the mica won dry inside the nozzle creating a clog that will block your bottle forever.
