Hi there, Daphne and Sophie Snowflakes wafer dies by Simon Says Stamp are divine!! These are products from their new Make Merry release filled with Christmas themed supplies for papercraft.
I mentioned in my previous Make Merry blog post here that my SSS parcel for this release is a little bit delayed and a dear friend sent me some die cuts and stamped images to be able to create for this release.
In her care package, she included a single sample die-cut of the new Daphne and Sophie Snowflakes and I couldn’t resist using them!
SOPHIE SNOWFLAKE TAGS
Ok, to make these super-duper simple Xmas tags I used the die-cut made using Sophie Snowflake dies and the must-have Nested Tags die set by Simon Says Stamp
To stretch my die- cut, I first cut the snowflake in half and added to each tag. Voila!
As I didn’t want to cover the beautiful snowflake silhouette, I added a micro- tiny heat embossed banner on each tag .
BTW to make this banners, I used Versamark ink and Nuvo Fine Detail Glacier White embossing powder on black cardstock.
The sentiments are from the versatile “Tiny Christmas Sentiments stamp set” .
To add some sparkle, I decided to use Silver Fashion embellishments and Silver Glitter cardstock.
DAPHNE SNOWFLAKE MINI gift BOX
I ten grabbed my Daphne snowflake die-cut. it measures about 2×2 inches so why not making a super simple gif box.
Yes, the box measures 2″ x 2″ inches. It is tiny and I really like it.
Look at that mini tag with a mini bow I added over the centre of the snowflake!!
It doesn’t measure 1/2″ inches long .. It is microscopic! Although the box looks big as I used macro lenses to take this picture.
This box fit in the palm of my hand. To make it, I used a scoring board and 2 pieces of paper:
- For the box lid, I used a 4″x4″ inches piece of paper and it was scored at 1″ inches.
- The piece for the box base measured 6″ x 6″ inches BUT I trimmed 1/16″ from two sides of the paper (this would guarantee that the base of the box will fit in the lid). I score at 2″ inches.
more make merry ideas?
That’s all for today,
I hope you like this super simple projects.

What fun projects. I love how you used the snowflake to work for two tags. That little box with the tiny tag is just precious. The snowflake makes a perfect topper. Thanks for the inspiration.
