Hello crafty friends, Today I’m sharing this super-easy butterfly pop-up card, created using the Whirl Butterflies Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp, together with the Musical Notes and Stave Pop-Up Etched Dies by Spellbinders.
Card Recipe
- Spellbinders Musical Notes and Stave Pop-Up Etched Dies
- Whirl Butterflies Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp
- Bouncy Happy Birthday Wafer Dies
- Big and Bold Stamp Set
- Clear Stamp Groovy Daisies
- Rain or Shine stamp set by Simon Says Stamp
The Butterflies
I started by die-cutting the butterflies from white cardstock and added colour with inks listed below. To later assemble them.
- Orchid and Marine
- Rose and Citrine
- Pearfection and Citrine

The Pop – Up
Then I moved on to the pop-up mechanism, which is incredibly easy to create.
I trimmed a 5½” square piece of cardstock, placed the spiral pop-up die in the centre, and ran it through my die-cutting machine.
Note: The cardstock can be any size, as long as the die fits in the centre.
Once die-cut, you’ll see the spiral shape cut into the panel. Simply glue the panel directly onto the inside back of the card base.
Next, add a small amount of glue to the circular section in the centre of the spiral and close the card. Leave it closed for a moment to allow the pieces to adhere together.
When you open the card again, your spiral pop-up mechanism is ready!

The front Panel
For the front panel of the card, I wanted to keep the design very simple. I trimmed a piece of Tuscan cardstock by Spellbinders to approximately 5¼ x 5¼ inches, and stamped it with the Groovy Daisies Clear Stamp by Simon Says Stamp. For a subtle tone-on-tone effect, I used Citrine ink.
To finish the card, I added a simple Happy Birthday die-cut sentiment using the Bouncy Happy Birthday Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp.
That’s all for today.
thanks for stopping by.
