Hello! Today I’m joining the Altenew December Release Instagram blog hop + Giveaways and I’m loving the new Craft A Flower Calla Lily Layering Dies.
Calla Lilies were my mother’s favourite flowers, she used to plant them in friends’ and family’s gardens and they kept growing. So these flowers are very special to me as they bring beautiful memories.
I also used the new Build-A-Garden: Blossoming Freesia Set that includes stamps, dies and layered stencils that will easily allow you to add colour to the flowers.
Altenew Calla Lily
Card Recipe
- This slimline card measures 4×8 inches.
- The front panel and die cuts were made using thick 300 grams cardstock.
- The card base was made using 250 grams cardstock
Cardmaking Supplies
- Altenew Craft A Flower Calla Lily Layering Dies.
- New Altenew Kaleidoscope ink colours:
- The sentiment was made using stamps and dies from the new Build-A-Garden: Blossoming Freesia Set.
- To make the hummingbirds I used dies from the Spellbinders Delicate Floral Hummingbirds Etched Dies
Ink Colours Used
- Flower Pistils: Oolong Tea ink and a hint of Caramel Toffee ink ( from a previous release)
- Petals: Icy Lemonade and a hint of Caramel Toffee.
- Leaves: Aloe Vera, Swamp Green, Oak Moss.
- Hummingbirds: Oolong Tea and a hint of Caramel Toffee – Aloe Vera, Matcha Tea, Oak Moss inks.
- I did not blend all the inks, I added one colour on one side and the other colour on the other.
- To add accent and contrast, I also added Green Gold ink around the edges of the die cuts

Card Recipe
- This is a C6 Card. It measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ inches.
- The front panel and die cuts were made using thick 300 grams cardstock.
- The card base was made using 250 grams cardstock.
- The backing panel was made out of Midnight Green cardstock.
