Today, I’m featuring two new products from this release: the Christmas Bouquet Die Set and the Festive Fusion Mix Cardstock.
Festive Fusion Mix Cardstock
The Festive Fusion Mix Cardstock caught my eye with its delicate yet bold colour palette, featuring shades of pink, purple, and fuchsia in pearlescent, mirror, and glitter finishes.
These cardstock packs are so much fun to use because they take all the guesswork out of colour matching!
Card Recipe
This is an A2 side-fold card (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″).
To make it, I used:
- Christmas Bouquet Die Set by Alex Syberia Designs – Floral composition
- Bow Ho Ho Frame Die Set by Alex Syberia Designs- for the sentiment
- Alex Syberia Designs Festive Fusion Mix Cardstock by Alex Syberia Designs- only cardstock used.
- Simon Says Stamp Premium Heat-Resistant Clear Acetate Sheets – Used to add a background layer for the floral arrangement and the die-cut sentiment.
Adeshives:
- To create a card with this type of transparency, we need the right adhesives.
- To adhere paper to acetate, I always used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape.
I apply a very small amount of glue, let it dry slightly, and then place the paper over the acetate, avoiding pressure to prevent the glue from smearing along the edges.
When using mirror cardstock, it’s easy to clean any excess glue with a dry paper towel. - To glue layered pieces, I use Pawsitively Glue, which – like Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive– provides a strong bond but gives me a little more time to move things around.
- To add dimension, I also use Simon Says Stamp Square Foams for the pieces that go on the front of the composition ( in this case, the flowers)
I’ll be sharing more ideas during the Instagram and YouTube Hop, where I’ll also show you how I glued sentiments like these onto my card — they look as if they’re floating!
