Hello Crafty friends, I’m obsessed with the Argyle Builder stencil by Simon Says Stamp, and today Im passing by to share Christmas cardmaking ideas.
Look how gorgeous the background panels look when you add Altenew Mayan Relief Paste through the stitching layer of the stencil pack.
For a very bold look and feel, you can use dark inks over coloured cardstock. I used reds over pink cardstock and blues over light blue cardstock, getting an extra layer of colour and contrast.
These cards are side-fold A2 cards. I used Simon Says Stamp white A2 Side-Fold Scored Cards. These card bases are stunning. The paper is gorgeous.
Both cards also feature pre-printed sentiments: “Thankful for you” and “Thank you for your love and care”, and I turned one of them into a mini tag hanging from the floral arrangement for the blue card.

Pawsitivley Saturated Inks Used
Red Card Background: Punch and Cabernet Pawsitively Saturated Inks.
Blue Card Background: Cadette Pawsitively Saturated, and Altnew Sapphire Inks.
Ink blended accents to the flowers and leaves: Cherry, Citrine, and Pine Pawsitively Saturated Inks.
Gnome: Punch, Filed, and Pine Pawsitively Saturated Inks.
Poinsettia Christmas Card
- Use a gel press to keep your stencil in place while blending.
- Layer flower die cuts with foam tape for a realistic 3D effect.
- Add small accents like gold sequins to add interest.
You can make these cards in any colour and for any occasion using different die-cut toppers and sentiments…
Gnome Xmas Card
Keep it simple by adding a die-cut texture behind the main topper — this will create a nice division between the background panel and the die-cut topper.
