Hi crafty friends, welcome to the Simon Says Stamp DieCember® release blog hop – Day 1. For today I have 3 crafty ideas using the new Fanfare Border Wafer Die and Whirl Leaves Wafer Die.
Fanfare Border
- The Fanfare Border Wafer Die is super versatile and it can be used in a wide variety of porjects for different ocassions.
- It measures 1-3/4″ x 7-1/4″ inches.
Xmas ideaS
It is Xmas time so I made Christmas -themed projects but you can use this ideas with any other dies you might have.
For each sample in this post, I used different die-cut elements and layouts to go with the Fanfare Border and I also made a 3D project to give you extra ideas.
You might also be able to see the new Whirl Leaves Wafer Die being used to create a texture or a filler element behind the main die-cut images.
For an arty look I deicided to die-cut all the pieces out of a mixed media cardstock similar to the Tim Holtz 8.5 X 11 Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
I know that some watercolor papers are quite expensive, we can always use any afordable textured watercolor paper to do this.
Oh! to add colour, I used a dry brush and paints from the Allegro Acrylic Paint Kit , mixed with white acrylic paint.
You can stamp over the Allegro Acrylic Paints and apply a wide variety of techniques. I’m totally in love with those paints!!!

- GEMINI Die-Cutting Machine and Spellbinders PLATINUM 6 Die-Cutting Machine
- Inca Gold Mirror Card Iridescent Cardstock
- Tim Holtz 8.5 X 11 watercolor cardstock
- Fanfare Border Wafer Die.
- Whirl Leaves Wafer Die.
- Christmas Foliage Wafer Dies.
- Layered Chickadee Wafer Die.
- To stamp the sentiment, I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and the Misti Stamping Tool
- The sentiment is from CZ Design Clean Line Christmas stamp set
- Blue Paint from the Stamperia Create Happiness 2 Allegro Acrylic Paint Kit
- White Acrylic Paint.
- Black ink diluted with water to spalter over the painted die-cuts.

- The sentiment is from the Winter Birds stamp set.
- GEMINI Die-Cutting Machine
- Scoring Board and Scissors to shape the cracker.
