Paper
- In my Instagram reel here you can appreciate the beauty of the new Luxe Glitter Cardstock, a stunning thick shimmering holographic cardstock. I die-cut the black part of the penguins out of it. I love it!!!
- For the background and white die-cuts, I used Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB. Some of the die-cuts were painted or splattered using different mediums.
- Some of the snowflakes were made out of Silver Holographic Cardstock and light blue cardstock
- The card bases are Craft Perfect A2 Card Blanks.
Embellishments
I also added some embellishments from the Simon Says Stamp Sequins Holly Sparkle.
These are gorgeous, the packaging includes opalescent Xmas leaves that change colour when you move them… Beautiful!
** Find the complete supplies list at the bottom of this post.
The Cardmaking Process
- First, I embossed a white background panel using the new Winter Berries Embossing Folder.
- Then, I applied Beeswax over the raised areas of the embossed panels.
- The Beeswax will resist any water-based medium you apply over.
- So I sprayed the panels using Picket Fence, Broken China, and Speckled Egg Distress Sprays.
- Next, I sprayed water to activate the inks and blend them.
- I used a heat tool to dry the panels quickly but leave them air-dry if you have time and patience.
Once the panels were dry, I splatter them using gold watercolour paint, white acrylic paint, and dark blue paint mixed with water.
I die-cut different elements such as snowflakes, Xmas leaves, and the penguin belly out of different cardstock colours.
It looks like a lot but each card has 7 die cuts in total, all of them super easy and quick to cut.
To finish, I just layered them up and stuck them together using Foam Squares Adhesives and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to stick them in place).
These cards were easy to make and they look cute, full of life, and so arty!!! I hope to have encouraged you to give this a try.
