Hello Crafty Friends, today I’m sharing two easy cardmaking ideas using Have a Hoot #658 Stamp Set by AALL & Create.
I made 2 different card formats ( C6 and slimline) and both feature the same elements: cute stamped owls, Copic colouring, washi tape borders, stencilled backgrounds, die-cut textures behind the images, and a little bit of dimension to add interest.
Have a Hoot #658 Stamp Set
- Have a Hoot #658 Stamp Set is an owl themed stamp set.
- Designed by Janet Klein for AALL & Create.
- It includes 3 different owl illustrations and 4 sentiments.
Supplies used
To make these cards I used the main following supplies:
- Have a Hoot #658 Stamp Set
- Stencil #105 Lotza Trianglz.
- Washi Tape Inspire #2 (0.8 inches width by 10 meters length)
- XL Spring Greetings Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamps
- #13 Bursting Buds and #14 Cells die sets.
- Copic Ciao Markers and Distress Inks to add colours.

The Images
- First, I stamped the images on smooth cardstock using the Misti and Black Memento Ink.
- Then I applied colour using Copics ( alcohol Markers)
- Next, I fussy cut the images.
- Using a Memento Black Marker, I applied ink around the raw edges of the images and set them aside.
The Sentiments
I white heat embossed on black sentiments from the Have a Hoot #658 Stamp Set to make small banners for both cards.
For the slimline card ( 3/3-4″ x 8″ inches), I also used a sentiment from the XL Spring Greetings Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamps. I used the Misti and Versafine Black Onix Ink to do this.
The Backgrounds
I placed the Lotza Trianglz stencil #105 over the background pieces for these cards and I applied Fossilized Amber and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil using SSS blending brushes.
Then I adhered the Washi Tape Inspire #2 to the bottom portion of each panel.
I inked a die-cut using brown, green and red Distress inks and I glued it to the background to add interest
To finish, I used foam pad adhesives to adhere the images over and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to glue other elements and embellishments as shown in the pictures.
I also used Sparkle Silk over the images to add shine and to add glossy accents I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze.
