Hello crafty friends, I did some no-line coloring using the new SSS Daffodil Field background stamp, and while die-cutting the panel I damaged it! Nooo. I decided to rescue part of it using the SSS Delicate Meadow Butterfly die set.
Below is a screenshot of the panel before the accident …
The SSS Daffodil Field background stamp is stunning. gIt is good to apply a wide variety of techniques although tone on tone stamping will be enough.
I spent a good amount of time adding color using Zigs and a Nuvo water brush.
Never happened before in 10 years but when cutting the panel with a frame die, the die moved while die-cutting and it all went wrong.
I have been very distracted and pained whit what is happening in Ukraine and also with challenges at home.
My son Harris ( 6 years old) is on the spectrum (non-verbal) and for the last 2 weeks, he refuses to get dressed and to go out of the house. We have tried everything to motivate him to go out.
Anyways… I couldn’t let go and I have to do something with the damaged panel so here are 2 very easy ideas.
Mini Slimline Card
This card measures 6 -3/4″ x 3-1/2″ inches.
The Meadow Butterfly measures approximately 2-1/2″ x 3″ inches so it was just perfect to make this mini slimline card.
To do this, I also used the largest die from the Mini Slimline rectangles die set to cut a perfect front panel for this card.
The sentiment is from the SSS Well Wishes stamp set.
Gift Box
This box measures 3-1/4″x 3- 1/4″ inches and it is 1-1/2 ” tall. To make it I used a scoring board.
I die-cut another butterfly using SSS Delicate Meadow Butterfly die set to make a super easy topper for this box.
For the box you need 2 pieces of 250grams cardstock:
- For the box lid, you will need a 4-1/4″x 4-1/4″ inches black piece of cardstock. Scored at 1/2″ inch around the edges.
- For the box body, you will need an 6-1/4″x 6-1/4″ piece white cardstock. I trimmed 1/16″ of an inch from each side before scoring at 1-1/2″ inches around the edges.
- Then , you need to trim the corners, fold and shape the box to then glue it together.
- However, before assembling the box I die -cut the lid piece using the Shimmer Butterfly die set. I just to add an inlaid die-cut pattern behind the topper.
I have made these boxes so many times, they are quite easy to DIY to any size
The sentiment is also from the SSS Well Wishes stamp set.
That’s all for today.
I hope you like this idea.
Thanks for stopping by.
