Card Recipe
- Neenah 110 Lb Cardstock.
- Layered Berry Bird die set
- 8×10 gel press
- Blessed Wafer Dies
- Sentiment Strips Blessed
- Embossing Folder
- Bibi’s Intense Liquid Colors:
*BIRD: Ocean, Safron, Lamp Black, Green Olive, and Purple Intense Liquid Colors.
*BACKGROUND: Ocean, Purple Intense Liquid Colours.
I also added Black Sooth Distress Ink, Alenew Antique Gold Ink over the raised areas of the embossed image, and I splattered Silver Sparkle Base. - Foam Blending Tools ( no sponge or felt but foam)
- Mini Foam blending tools.
- Nuvo Crystal Glaze

So I use Intense Liquid Colours to add colour to all the elements in this card ( die-cuts and background).
To do this, you will need sponges, daubers, or blending tools with pads made from hydrophilic polyurethane foam (the same material used for make-up sponges).
For this card, I used mini Ranger blending tools since I was coloring small die-cuts. For the background, I opted for the standard-size blending tools.
Top Tips:
- Use watercolor paper or Neenah 100lb cardstock for the best results.
- Apply very little paint ( Drops of Intense Liquid colours)
- Apply pure paint – Do not dilute the paint with water.
- Use dry tools – Avoid using wet tools for smoother blending.
- Use the right tools – Sponges, daubers, or blending tools with pads made of hydrophilic polyurethane foam work best. Be cautious with certain sponges or textured materials that can leave streaks or absorb too much paint, making blending more difficult.
- Be light-handed – Apply gentle pressure to avoid tearing the cardstock.
- Build the colour – Start with a light layer and gradually build up the colour with additional layers allowing each layer to dry before applying the next one
- To achieve smooth blending or color transitions, apply a new layer of paint over a wet one.
And remember, blending is all about layering and patience. So, take your time and enjoy the process!
That’s all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
