Hello there! This 6×6 inches Embossed & Stenciled Pumpkin Card is easy and quick to create, and it’s perfect for the autumn season!
The card features Altenew’s brand-new Pumpkin Patch embossing folder along with the coordinating stencils.
To add vibrant fall hues, I used some of the new orange and reddish fresh inks by Altenew’s.

Embossed & Stencilled Pumpkin Cards
Step-by-Step Guide: Embossed & Stenciled Pumpkin Card
Here’s a breakdown of the steps I followed:
- Embossing the Cardstock:
I started by applying Altenew’s new Iceberg ink to the back of the front lid of the embossing folder.
I then placed a piece of smooth white cardstock (300g) inside the folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine. This added a subtle base colour to the background of the embossed area. - Stenciling the Colors:
Next, I aligned the coordinating stencils over the embossed image. To create a rich, autumnal palette, I added vibrant colours: oranges, pinks, blues, browns, and greens.
I used Altenew Blending Brushes, which helped spread the ink like butter over the paper. These brushes are perfect for achieving smooth, even coverage and blending different shades seamlessly.
I used light/bright inks to fill in the main areas of each pumpkin and to add depth, I applied darker shades around the edges. - Creating Variety: Even though I stuck to similar shades for the pumpkins, I made sure each one had a unique look by blending different combinations of light and dark tones. This way, the image didn’t look flat, and each pumpkin had its own character and dimension.
Pro tip: For extra interest, try adding a hint of a contrasting color or some shimmer for a bit of extra sparkle!

These C6/ A2 cards were made with busy crafters in mind. They are easy -makes but the process is still enjoyable and relaxing as you will spend some time blending inks through the stencils.
I filmed the process and you can find it in the link below.
This is a speed video and will allow you to see the products in action.
In real-time, it took me 30 minutes to complete 4 cards.
I applied a potpourri of contrasting ink colours ( listed below and in the supplies list)
- As you see in the video, I first stamped the image from the Pumpink Patch stamp set on the centre of a 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel cut out of white smooth cardstock ( 300gsm).
- I used Altenew Obdisian ink ( new favorite) and because the stamp and the piece of paper used are large, I used the lid of the Stamp Wheel as a clear block.
- Then, I used a heat tool to quickly heat set the ink. You can allow it to dry naturally too to avoid ink smearing.
- To add colour, I used the 6 layers coloring stencil and inks listed below:
- Once the panels were fully coloured, I cut them in half.
- I aligned the images with the embossing folder and it gave it a beautiful texture. Sadly this can’t be seen in pictures.
- As I got some ink on unwanted areas, I quickly fusy cut 2 off these panels and I dhered them over the card bases.
- To finish I added sentiments made using the One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips better press plate and dies and Betterpress blue ink.
That’s all for today
Happy Crafting
