Hello everyone, I’m sharing a video-post here and over the Neat and Tangled blog using the new Gift Card Box from their August release.
I’m also sharing a couple of ideas to easily create pop-up card holders to fit inside the little boxes.
The box assembled measures 3- 3/4″ x 2.5″ and they are 1/2 inch tall.
Find video here!
Extremely versatile, this box design can be customized for any occasion and it can accommodate a regular gift/reward card. It will be also great packaging for small treats, tealights, jewellery, mini cards, tags, slim sweeties, chocolates or even money.
For the pop up insert you will need a 6″ x 3-5/8″ or 6″ x 3-1/2 piece of thick cardstock (240 grams to 300 grams)
The thicker the cardstock the narrower should be the insert (maximum 1/4 an inch shorter) so that it will allow the box flaps to fold down in place and the box can be closed while the insert fits just right in the box interior.
Scoring lines: 2″, 2- 1/2″ – 3 1/ 2″ inches. Fold and glue the paper as shown in the video.
With this basic design, the gift card will remain straight up inside the box as shown in the picture above and it will stay like that every time you open it.
For this box insert, you will need a piece of thick cardstock with the exact size and recommendations than the box above. However, the scoring lines and the way to glue the insert inside the box is different.
Fold the insert piece in half and score a line 1/2″ inches to each side of the centre line and glue it inside the box as shown in the video.
It is optional to cut 1/2 inch from the length of the insert so that this design will allow you to keep the gift card laying down flat inside the box as shown in the picture above and it will stay in that way when you open the box.
If you don’t cut 1/2 inch from the insert piece you will have a similar insert as the previous box (pink box above), the gift card will remain straight up inside the box and it will stay like that every time you open it.
So there you go two very similar ideas to create the pop-up card holder. Depending on what you are going to fit in the box you might want to choose for one of these options.
I was keen to try several boxes designs for Halloween, children parties, birthdays, Christmas … the box is adorable every time, except for the crocodile idea that I couldn’t finish and I’m showing briefly in the video… that one was a funny failure lol.
That’s all for today!
I hope you like the card and thank in advance for your kind comments.
