Hi there! I have the pleasure to invite you to enjoy or join atheme challenge this week onTGIF.
In this opportunity we are making paper craft projects inspired by “Summer & Sunshine” and I couldn’t avoid thinking on Birthday Party Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! for my entry today.
Some of my lovely readers knows that I’m South American living in Scotland/ UK ( 3 1/2 years ago). I’m still learning the language and still trying to get used to the weather, but both has been very slow process.
I used to live in a country with not seasons but a beautiful warmth weather all year round. Sometimes it rains there and there are fresh days to chill out and get cozy but I actually didn’t know what it was to miss the sunshine.
In my country Colombia we have sun from 6 am to 6 pm everyday. Here in Scotland getting sun is a luxury and privilege of summer days … something to look forward! So I have to say how much “I miss the sun” and the happiness it brings to everybody’s lives. It has such a huge impact in the culture, in public health, in the mood of people in the flavor of the food, in everything! I love to see happy faces on a warmth Scottish day while I’m still wearing a cardigan.
So Birthday Party Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is not a Sunshine/Sun stamp set but it evokes the happiness and festivity of the summer. It also evokes my Latin American culture as it includes images/icons from Mexican, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Bolivian and Chilean cultures: such as the llama, the cactus, the founts and the bunting.
This stamp set is a party! it allows you to add vibrant summer colours to your paper craft projects but you can also go subtle and use any of the 21 individual stamps in the set to make cards for any occasion. This is one of the most versatile stamp sets in the current catalog. I have many reasons to love it!

I applied the technique marker to stamp to the main sentiment in different colours. You can also use your “Misti Stamping Tool” to get a sharper stamped image.

Using the Misti to apply different ink colouts with 1 single stamp.
To make the banner I use Lots Of Labels Framelits Dies. I cut the whisper withe label to adjust it to the sentiment size and I stamped tone on tone the Tangerine Tango one, to so this I used one of the small stamps in Birthday Fiesta Stamp Set. It really add a fun element to the banner.
I used this stamp set to participate in a theme challenge for Global Design Project and in that oportunity I applied the mirror image technique so I go the Llama facing in 2 different directions. CLICK HERE or in the image below to see more details about The Llama Wedding card.
I’m preparing a new video to show you 3 ways to make a mirrored image and it will be available soon in myYoutube Channel HERE! I’m a bit slow editing my videos so make sure to subscribe to be amongst the first in see how to achieve nice stamped mirrored images. I made a precious video about this technique HERE but my next one will be a bit more comprehensive and with voice over.
